Here’s a tip sent to me by a buddy here at Microsoft. Apparently we don’t document this anywhere so I thought for now we could at least put it out on the blog.
Summary: This article describes how to determine which version of System Center Configuration Manager 2007 is installed on your server, and explains the differences between the versions.
Determining the version:
1) Open the ConfigMgr admin Console.
2) Navigate to Site Database, then Site Management.
3) Right-click on your site and select Properties.
4) The version will be listed on the properties screen.
ConfigMgr RTM - 4.00.5931.0000
ConfigMgr SP1 - 4.00.6221.1000
The “R2 installed” field will state “No”.
ConfigMgr R2 - 4.00.6221.1000
The “R2 installed” field will state “Yes”.
